A spatial reconstruction of historical land uses in the Oldman River Watershed, Alberta

This project focused on the historical mapping of land uses (human population, settlements, roads, croplands, livestock, energy sector) in the Oldman River Watershed between 1905 and 2005. A series of decade-by-decade maps were prepared including the following themes: natural landscape, croplands, livestock, energy sector, transportaiton, settlements and rural residential. Maps were produced at a 5 x 5 km scale.
